Hard White Winter Wheat (BPL-2013-MTW08168)
Contact: Nick Zelver, 406-994-7706
A new hard white winter wheat that includes properties of most red winter wheat varieties grown in Montana.
To be considered for licensing the MTW08168 cultivar, please submit a proposal by June 15, 2013 that includes:
- the terms of the MTW08168 Licensing Term Sheet; and
- a plan for segregating storage and processing of MTW08168 from other cultivars.
Biological drug or probiotic food to treat autoimmune diseases with no immunosuppression and minimal immunogenicity (PDW-2012)
Contact: Nick Zelver, 406-994-7706
A broad-spectrum biological therapeutic that can be administered orally, nasally, or sublingually to treat autoimmune disorders without immunosuppression, a common therapy that suppresses beneficial immunity. The therapeutic can also be integrated into fermented diary products such as developing a novel probiotic yogurt that blocks autoimmune responses.
Non-Transgenic Mutations in Wheat to Create Grain Hardness Variations (GMJ-2013-PIN)
Contact: Gary Bloomer, 406-994-7483
A series of new puroindoline alleles via EMS mutagenesis that create defined levels of grain hardness and texture. These alleles could be used to impart the following traits:
- Group 1: Super soft wheat. Decreased grain hardness of a soft wheat and increase in break flour yield, reduced starch damage and water absorption.
- Group 2: Enhanced milling yield soft wheat. Increased grain hardness of a soft wheat to increase overall milling yield and reduce sifting time.
- Group 3: High milling yield hard wheat. Decreased grain hardness of a hard wheat increases overall milling yield and reduces flour ash levels.
Group 4: High water absorption hard wheat. Increase grain hardness of a hard wheat increases starch damage in flour.Non-Transgenic Mutations in Wheat to Create Grain Hardness Variation
Enhanced Properties of Bread Dough (MJM-2012-GLUD)
Contact: Gary Bloomer, 406-994-7483
Finding: New mutations for the Dx5 and Dy10 subunit genes in wheat which enable enhanced dough handling characteristics including mix time, elasticity, and extensibility.
- Potential Applications:
Easier handling in production process, lower imact on mixing machinery - Large size bread loafs
- Improved pizza crusts, biscuits, artisan breads
- Enhanced Properties of Bread Dough
Double-Mutant Live Attenuated Brucella Vaccines (PDW-2012-LIVE)
Contact: Gary Bloomer, 406-994-7483
A double-mutant brucellosis vaccine for cattle and humans which has two virulence genes attenuated to enable minimal infection and a marker gene to enable identification of the vaccine from wild type pathogen. This vaccine is more effective and more attenuated than current vaccines.
Increased Oil Yield in Oilseed Crops for Enhanced Biodiesel Production (JRK-2012-HMLA)
Contact: Gary Bloomer, 406-994-7483
A protein expressed in oilseed plants increases the oil content.
